Full Bio


Rev. Alfonso A. Carter was born in Indianapolis, Indiana. His parents are Dale Carter (Teresa) and Saundra Crawford (John). He has five brothers and 2 sisters. Alfonso received an interest in church at a young age while learning about God from his Grandfather, the late Pastor Alfonso Swanigan, and preached his first sermon at the age of 12. He was licensed to preach on March 22, 2009 under the leadership of Rev. Angelo White Sr. at the Pathway Missionary Baptist Church where he served as the youth pastor for five years. He was ordained to the Gospel ministry November 27, 2016 under the leadership Rev. Dr. Michael A. Searcy at New Direction Worship Center where he served faithfully as the pastoral assistant for four years. Rev. Carter is a graduate of the Broad Ripple Magnet High School For Performing Arts and Humanities where he studied the art of singing, musical theater, and conducting. He is also a proud graduate of Crossroads Bible College where he majored in leadership and ministry with a pastoral focus. He plans to grow strong in the Lord and fulfill the great commission and great commandment.
