We Have Work To Do
Greetings Mt. Pisgah:
God is calling Mt. Pisgah to "The Next Level." Our Mission Statement states "we shall be a church of Divine purpose..."
Christ is at the core of our existence as a church and faith is the central agent for bringing glory to God,
"for without faith it is impossible to please God" (Heb. 11:6). Any call from God requires faith to respond, faith
not in ourselves, but in the power of God.
The building of our new worship center IS NOT ALL THE LORD HAS FOR THIS CHURCH, we are not finished! Always remember
that this building was build to expand ministry: to provide us a greater opportunity to reach those who are hurting
and alone, with the wondrous good news of Jesus Christ. God built this building so that He could push our church to
the cutting edge of relevant ministry. This building is the anticipation of the harvest of aggressive and effective
Evangelism. This is not the end of the vision, but its only the beginning; in fact, it's the easy part of the vision.
These are some matters that have my attention in prayer. I have been talking to the Lord about the continuation of
the vision and that we will not become complacent.. No one should be satisfied with just "coasting" in now that
the building has been completed. God still has much to do through us. Let me share with you 5 things that I have
been talking to the good Lord about:
1. Establishing our own Christian academy, where the Bible, Foreign language, and a true sense of Black History
are apart of the curriculum. An education atmosphere that will challenge our children to reach for higher heights.
A place where the name of Jesus is not resented, but taught as a reality and a sure foundation to all of life's
answer. A disciplined scholastic environment where prayer is embraced and the expectation to excel is fostered
and nurtured. Christ has shown me a Christ centered educational structure where our children can grow up knowing
and appreciating the history of the Pentateuch (first five books of the Bible); the majestic pearls of the Poetry
books; the wisdom of the Prophets; the grace of Gospel; the history of the Church in Acts; the biblical precepts
in the Epistles and understand the signs of the times in Revelation. WE HAVE WORK TO DO...
2 Tim. 3:14-17 ~ But you must keep on believing the things you have been taught. You
know they are true, for you know that you can trust those of us who have taught you.
[15] You know how, when you were a small child, you were taught the holy Scriptures;
and it is these that make you wise to accept God's salvation by trusting in Christ Jesus.
[16] The whole Bible was given to us by inspiration from God and is useful to teach us
what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives; it straightens us out and
helps us do what is right.
[17] It's is God's way of making us well prepared at every point,
fully equipped to do good to everyone.
2. Get rid of our Church mortgage within 8 years. Free up those monies, so we can use that in ministry.
In fact, the Lord has laid it on my heart to hire a woman (from afar or possible near), who will do nothing
but work with the women of this church by planning, praying, and assisting in developing ministries that are
well rounded and will meet the needs of all our women/girls, but there must be monies free so that these type
of ministries can become available.
WE ARE NOT FINISHED YET...
3. By the year 2012, there will be over 15000 men/women returning out of prison in Indiana. What are they
going to do and where will they go for help? The Lord has put it on my heart to create a ministry that will
help those who are coming out of prison get adjusted back into society. Do you realize how "doggone" hard it
is to get a job/decent housing with a felony on your record? There need to be training, mentoring, counseling,
discipling, etc.
OUR WORK IS NOT FINISHED, WE ARE ONLY AT THE BEGINNING...
4. Families -families -families are in my conversations with the Lord. I am still asking God to heal our homes.
My prayer lately has been that God will restore, renew, and revive our hurting homes.
I just believe the process will begin, when we begin to mature in the Word of God. I am still convinced families
that stay in the Word, God's has a Word for their struggles and pain. I am still praying that I will see more men,
take on the roll as the Priest in their families and lead their families to Bible Study and Church school.
I am praying that all this foolishness about allowing church to be an option for our children, be done away with.
I have asked God to let His Spirit communicate the need of hearing, learning, and believing His Word as a necessity
for every household. My prayer is again, that every family establish a family altar. If you tried and failed,
try-try again until it becomes a regular practice in your homes. Praying families make strong families!
NEEDLESS TO SAY, WE AIN'T FINISHED YET...
5. Within the next three years, Mt. Pisgah must train, prepare and send a group of missionaries out on the fields
to minister overseas. Whether it be at the hospital we support or at the church that this congregation built
(in 2005) in Ghana, West Africa or in Haiti where the average life expectancy for an adult is 36 years old.
If the Lord says the same, this church will be responsible for building a cafeteria at a elementary school,
where children in the region can receive food that has not rotten of deteriorated beyond consumption. We are
Mt. Pisgah MISSIONARY Baptist Church not Mt. Pisgah STATIONARY Baptist Church. I have been invited to the
Philippines to do a crusade by sharing the Good News of the Gospel. Brother Loquais needs people to come and help
in the crusade.
WE STILL HAVE WORK TO DO...
Matthew 9:37-38 "What a huge harvest!" he said to his disciple. "How few workers! [38] On your knees and pray for
harvest hands!" -Message Bible
"The harvest is so great, and the workers are so few," he told his disciples. [38] "So pray to the one in charge
of the harvesting, and ask him to recruit more workers for his harvest fields." - Living Bible
Mt. Pisgah, let's stay focused and prepared to take the harvest.. In the harvest are souls that are headed for hell;
in the harvest there are husbands, father, brothers and sons that need to be restored back into the fellowship;
in the harvest there are mothers, wives, sisters, and daughters that need healing and hope; in the harvest are
the blessings and promises that the Lord will grant this church through our obedience.
I love you and I thank God for your willingness to put on your work clothes and go out into the fields to collect
the harvest.
